HP says it expects the software will be fully open-sourced by September, at which point its official name will be Open webOS 1.0.

The once great Vince Cable, sprouting some tosh. Thanks to the coordinated effort of the worlds' central banks, dolling out effectively free money to anybody who asked. Large corporations/companies i.e those big enough to have shareholders, have been steadily buying back their shares.
So lets give more power to the shareholders... I think I can foresee a problem with this.

Analysis:
Basically the players have been moved around the board, but the story is still the same. If RIM are going to be a even a slightly convincing third or fourth in the mobile arena, they need a Nokia style burning platform memo, and a talent transplant. They are fast losing ground and spending time on Tablets that have bombed. Get QNX working on a phone, and get BBM everywhere. The only thing RIM does well is BBM, and even that isn't on the tablet(s) yet - it should be sending warning alarms off to everybody not least the management teams.
Anyone who assumes that a simple CEO swap is the answer to all of RIMs issues is woefully misinformed, or worse, just blinded by false hope.
